Dennis Slothower

Dennis Slothower  CIO

Dennis Slothower is the firm’s Founder, Chairman, and Chief Investment Officer. He was raised in sunny San Diego, and now resides in Alpine, Utah, with his wife Debbie. He is the father of five children and several grandchildren.

After receiving his degree from Brigham Young University, Mr. Slothower found his professional passion: the stock market.

In 1979 he joined the brokerage firm of Shearson Lehman Hutton. With a fresh and unique approach to risk-management, he quickly moved up the corporate ladder as a trader- and later developed his own propriety risk-management model.

Mr. Slothower’s desire to give his Clients what was best for them prompted his departure from Shearson in 1989-spawning his successful and highly respected career as an independent money manager.

He is also the editor of two widely recognized and critically acclaimed financial newsletters, On The Money and Stealth Stocks.

Mr. Slothower is a popular speaker on the investment-conference circuit and is frequently sought after for interviews and articles by such major financial publication as Barron’s, Forbes, and CBS Market Watch.

Bruce ArmstrongBruce Armstrong  VP, CTO

Bruce Armstrong is the firm’s Vice President and Chief Technical Officer.

He grew up in Idaho, where he met his wife Lyn and began his higher education and career. He currently resides in American Fork, Utah – the father of eight children and many grandchildren.

While in Idaho, Bruce studied Nuclear Physics at Idaho State University and was employed during a few summers at the Atomic Energy site in Arco, Idaho – eventually specializing in computer science. With limited computer science programs at Idaho State, he moved to Utah and studied Computer Science and Industrial Engineering at both Brigham Young University and the University of Utah.

He began his career in 1975 managing computer operations and program development at Signetics, a semiconductor manufacturer in Orem, Utah.

In 1979 he started his own computer science company called Warehouse Advisor with a friend, specializing in computer software for controlling automated manufacturing and warehousing applications.

As computers have been a central part of his personal and business life, in 2001 he assisted in the founding of Alpine Capital Management as Vice President and Chief Technical Officer, using his long career of computer knowledge in managing the company and developing technical investment strategies for clients.

Bruce also serves as Vice President of Alpine Capital Publishing, Inc., a sister company to Alpine Capital Management LLC, specializing in technical analysis and the writing of financial newsletters (Stealth Stocks, OnTheMoney). He keeps current on computer technology through his technical analysis of the markets and by maintaining web sites for the newsletters, the Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) and Alpine Capital Management LLC.

David WestDavid L. West  MBA, CLU, CHFC

David West is recognized as one of the finest capital accumulation and capital distribution planning consultants for doctors and business owner/executives in America.

Mr. West received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and History from Montana State University at Billings in 1981. He continued his education and received a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Phoenix in 1984.

He then began his career in the insurance industry as an agent for Beneficial Life Insurance Company and became an Agency Manager for Beneficial Life from 1985 to 1989.

He became president of The Quest Estate Plan, a financial planning firm from l991 to l996. In 1997 he began his participation in the clinical trials of the implementation phase of the Doctors Economic Research Project and initiated his highly successful career as an insurance licensed, registered investment advisor for doctors and other high earning, high net worth individuals.

In 2002 he received his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designations. In this capacity he provided capital accumulation and capital distribution planning services, insurance products and investment advisory services to doctors and to business owner/executives who were members of associations participating in the implementation phase of a Doctors Economic Research Project.

Once again he distinguished himself with his commitment, his competence, and his dedication to assisting his clients in the achievement of their economic objectives of personal freedom and personal significance.

Within three years Mr. West became one of the most productive members of a group of financial consultants that established industry records for sales of insurance products and the placement of assets under management. His professional experiences and accomplishments uniquely qualify him to lead West Capital Advisors, Inc. as a marketing and sales consulting resource.

Mr. West is recognized as an outstanding teacher and public speaker. He has presented numerous economic education seminars to professional groups across the country on the findings of the Doctors Economic Research Project.

Mr. West and his wife Katheryn are the proud parents of 9 children. He and his family reside in Orem, Utah.  His hobbies include history, hiking, weight lifting, running and travel.
